Farahnaz, the pioneer of Persian and Belly dance in Edmonton, has a Bachelor of Education, major in Mathematics and minor in Physical Sciences from the University of Alberta. She is also trained in the area of Counseling & Social Work/Child Welfare Field. Because of her heritage and familiarity with the Middle-eastern culture, and in particular Persian culture, she has been choreographing and performing both Persian and Arabic dances which is referred to as belly dancing or middle-eastern dances, for about 15 years in numerous functions, concerts and cultural events. Farahnaz performs for all people with different ethnic background as well as Caucasians. She is known to Greeks, Turks, Kurds, Persians, Armenians, East Indians, Arabs from all over the middle-east and in particular Lebanese. In order to increase her dancing techniques and knowledge, she has taken several workshops from number of well-known international dancers and performers and she continues to attend these workshops every year. Presently, not only Farahnaz performs belly dancing on a regular basis but offers classes and workshops in Edmonton.
